Two gorgeous and competitive days of paddling on Brooks Lake rendered Cajun Invasion with the 1st Place Trophy in the Breast Cancer Survivor and Friends Division. We also competed in the Competitive Division and came out a very decent 6th Place. We enjoyed seeing again and competing against some of our favorite teams such as Pink Phurree, Houston Heat and Austin Coolers. And, were surprised when another team from the Lafayette area showed up! (Hoping to recruit some of those folks from GE to paddle with us on a permanent basis) Eve Ruhlman, Pres. and Ex.Dir., is always such a hoot! She and her committee make the whole weekend so much fun. The Rose Ceremony on Sunday was very touching as it was a tribute to MaryJane, a survivor warrior of Pink Phurree who recently lost the battle to cancer. She had a wonderful spirit and will be missed by all.  Some of us learned to ZUMBA and others enjoyed watching a dance troupe perform their craft of bellydancing. There was entertainment, fun, and food for all as well as the competition on the water.  I am sure we are already looking forward to the 10th Annual in 2013 !
