Nice weather and great competition makes for a wonderful day of paddling on the Red River at Riverview Park in downtown Shreveport!

We were all set for a day of 300m races in our home state. We tried to put our game faces on knowing the competition was going to be stiff.  And it was!  Last year's champions, Hotei & Foo Dogs, were back as well as the Shreveport Fire Dept. team, Blazin Inferno, and the Knucklebusters.  Our good friends in our alliance also showed up; the teams of Houston Heat, Austin Coolers, and DUC Delite.

We finished our 1st heat with a time of 1:19:56 and our second heat with a time of 1:19:68.  This placed us 9th out of 29 teams.  The combined total placed us 5th in the Challenge Cup Open Division.

We then paddled in the Top Division, the Blue Semi-final.  Unfortunately, we lost some steam and crossed the finish line with a time of 1:22:85.

We paddled well enough throughout the day to make it into the top division, which is always our goal.  We are constantly impressing upon people that there is life after cancer and that you can be as strong as you dare to be.

Paddles UP!
